When it is the right channel
On Pinterest people are in planning mode, not buying mode. That makes it work for categories explained visually and considered in advance: home and kitchen, décor, weddings, fashion, gifting. For urgent-need products — spare parts, medication, repairs — I don't make it a primary channel.
How I set it up
Catalogue connection and rich pins come first; creative that doesn't show the product won't hold here. The planning calendar comes before the campaign calendar: people research a summer wedding in winter and Christmas gifts in October, not November. So I pull the season forward.
What I don't do
I don't judge it on last-click. The conversion window is longer than other channels; on last-click Pinterest always looks weak and gets cut unfairly.
